Readpin Terms of Service
Effective date: July 3, 2026
Welcome to Readpin. These terms are the agreement between you and Readpin ("we," "us") for using the Readpin app and related services. We've kept them short and readable. By creating an account or using Readpin, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Readpin
You must be at least 13 years old to use Readpin. You're responsible for your account — keep your sign-in method secure, and let us know at support@readpin.org if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. Your content is yours
You own everything you create in Readpin — your pins, notes, photos, shelf, and recommendations. By posting content, you give us the limited license we need to operate the app: to store your content, display it back to you, and show it to the friends you've chosen to share it with, according to your visibility settings. That's the whole license. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't claim ownership of it.
If you delete content or your account, that license ends and the content is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Think before you pin
Pins are tied to real places. You choose what locations to attach to your reading — please be thoughtful about sharing locations that reveal where you (or others) live, work, or spend time, and use privacy zones and visibility settings where it makes sense. Don't pin locations in a way that invades someone else's privacy.
4. Acceptable use
Be a good neighbor. When using Readpin, you agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights (including copyrighted images you don't have the right to share)
- Impersonate others or misrepresent who you are
- Attempt to access other users' data, probe or circumvent our security measures, or interfere with the service
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data from Readpin
- Reverse engineer the app, or use it to build a competing dataset or service
- Use Readpin for spam or commercial solicitation
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules. You can report content or users from within the app.
5. Readpin Premium
Readpin offers an optional paid subscription, Readpin Premium, with pricing shown in the app. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple and auto-renew until canceled:
- Billing and renewal are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trial: if your plan includes a free trial, you'll be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Canceling: manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you cancel, Premium features remain available until the end of the period you've paid for. We may change Premium's price or features; changes to price apply only to future billing periods, and Apple will notify you as their policies require.
6. Book information and outside links
Book covers, descriptions, and lists in Readpin come from third-party sources (such as Open Library, Google Books, and The New York Times). We don't guarantee their accuracy or completeness. "Buy this book" links open Bookshop.org in your browser — purchases there are between you and Bookshop under their terms, and we may earn an affiliate commission on qualifying purchases.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using Readpin and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are inactive for an extended period, or where required by law. If we terminate your account for a reason other than a violation, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you first.
8. Disclaimers
Readpin is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it running well, but we can't promise the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content (including book metadata and map data) will always be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Readpin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Readpin is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the law of the place where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Continued use of Readpin after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the service and delete your account.
